Important Things You Should Keep in Your Car!
New York Used Car Dealer | Suffolk County Preowned Cars
Every time you hit the road in your new or used car you should be prepared for anything. That means packing up your trunk and glove box with useful items and tools. Kelley Blue Book put together a list of items every motorist should have on hand when behind the wheel. Check out their suggestions by reading on.

Tire Puncture Sealant: If you have ever accidentally driven over a sharp object, you may have experienced a tire puncture. Tire puncture sealant is a quick fix, just apply a can of sealant to the simple puncture and you'll be good to go in no time. Kelley Blue Book recommends you use a big can with a screw-type connector valve.
$5 Bill: For times when your wallet is feeling light, it's nice to have a little extra cash in your car. Whether you're on the toll roads or at the drive-thru, an extra $5 in the glovebox can be a lifesaver.
Lug Wrench: Sure, your car probably has a spare tire and lug wrench already in it. But these won't necessarily come in handy if the lug wrench that came with your car isn't big enough, like many aren't. Be sure to carry a full-sized wrench in the case of an emergency flat tire.
First Aid Kit: You never know what'll happen on the road, but in the case of a minor injury to you or a passenger, a first aid kit will always come in handy.
Spare Key: We've all either locked our keys in our car or lost our keys entirely. Carrying a spare key in a magnetic key case that hides under your car can save you from the embarrassment of admitting your mistake.
Flashlight: In any sort of emergency, a flashlight can come in handy. Whether you need to get a better look under the hood, or you're in a nighttime wreck, you'll want to have another source of light other than your smartphone.
Tire Gauge: Tires aren't cheap, so make sure you're taking good care of them. Consistently checking your tires with a tire gauge can stop preventable blowouts. Carrying your own tire gauge, instead of using air pump gauges, is both more convenient and more trustworthy.
Food and Water: If you ever end up stranded from unfortunate car troubles, you'll want to have a snack and some water. Carrying some candy bars and a quart of water can be a huge relief if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere, or stuck in traffic on your way home from work.
Extra Clothing and Blankets: You don't always choose your outfit in the morning while considering the possibility of getting stuck or stranded later that day. In the case of an emergency, you'll want to have some extra clothing to change into, some boots in the instance of a necessary hike, work gloves if you have some repairs to do, and some extra blankets to keep you or your passengers comfortable.
Miscellaneous Items: Kelley Blue Book also recommends some miscellaneous items that may come in handy, including a disposable cigarette lighter, rags, screwdrivers, pliers, a few feet of electrical wire and duct tape.
